To rename a resource

1. Open Cluster Administrator.
2. In the console tree, click the Resources folder.
3. In the details pane, click the resource you want to rename.
4. On the File menu, click Rename.
5. Type a new name for the resource.

• Changing the name of a resource does not affect the failover policy for that resource or for the other resources in the group to which it belongs. Also, changing the resource name does not affect the dependencies that other resources might have on the resource.
• The resource name is only used for administrative purposes.
• The resource name must be unique within the same cluster; other clusters may use the same resource name.
